The Role

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for People Advisor to join the People & Culture department at David Jones, providing support to the People Business Partnering team in the delivery of people solutions through a people plan aligned to the commercial and strategic requirements of the business.

This role will suit someone that has strong experience as a People Advisor or has recently transitioned into a HR Business Partnering role in a smaller business and has demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders of cyclical HR activities as well as working alongside Senior HR/People Partners/Managers supporting them with strategic people initiatives.

What does the role involve?

  • Partnering with the broader People team and business in delivering fit-for-purpose people insights and solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Working across the people team and the business to support performance coaching and management
  • Operate as a conduit for key people initiatives with a focus on optimising employee experiences,
  • Enabling data-driven people planning, as well as active management of cyclical people activities such as talent, succession, performance, recognition, engagement and remuneration
  • Supporting the People Business Partners and working closely with our People Assist Team and other People Advisors to help form meaningful people interventions aligned to both the business strategy and people plan

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate who’ll THRIVE in the role will possess the following skills and experience:

  • People/HR Advisor or HRBP experience with demonstrated experience owning HR cyclical activities and supporting senior HR team members with strategic people initiatives
  • An ability to work autonomously to deliver outcomes but also have a team approach and mindset to sharing insights, updates and key information
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and interpersonal skills and experience partnering with stakeholders of all levels
  • Data analytics and insights capabilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Psychology, Law, or similar ideal
