As the Network Optimisation and Security Team Lead you will be managing the Network optimisation and security team.

Reporting to the Senior Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the network is optimised for performance and reliability, and the implementation and operations of the security of the David Jones Network and Infrastructure. You will be working with other teams to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to address them.

The role will suit a Tech- Savvy, innovative and customer-obsessed with Extensive knowledge and expertise of network architectures, technologies, and topologies.

 

What does the role involve?

  • Assist to perform hardware and system implementations, including Network equipment and technology upgrades, relocation and refresh.
  • Identifying, monitoring, and defining the requirements of the overall optimisation and security of the Network infrastructure.
  • Planning, engineering, and monitoring the security arrangements for the protection of the network systems
  • Creating different ways to solve the existing threats and security issues.
  • Configuring and implementing intrusion detection systems and firewalls.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead a team to address all allocated first and second level service calls, system incidents, change requests and work orders delegated from the Technology team
  • Manage ordering, implementation and billing requirements for the network and security services
  • Subject matter expert on the relevant managed services contracts
  • Identify and implement Service Delivery performance improvements
  • Provide network and telephony solution consulting and delivery for David Jones
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and solutions that align with business objectives and enhance infrastructure capabilities
  • Manage relationship with external partner service delivery managers to ensure that service providers meet their contractual obligations
  • Accountable for leadership of the Network Optimisation and Security team, within the DJs Technology function

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience with managing network platforms such as HPE Aruba, Palo Alto, Netskope or Cloudflare.
  • Knowledge of the network security stack (firewall, proxy, remote access, IDS/IPS, access control)
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining SDWAN/SASE/SSE network architecture.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and plan, making insightful recommendations with an enterprise-wide consideration for technology and business needs
  • Experience in working with external partners, strong negotiation skills and understanding of technology commercial contracting environment
  • Experience with cloud networking and computing platforms such as AWS, or Azure
  • Ability to challenge and qualify the design of a solution and its suitability for our business
  • Ability to create, maintain and enhance effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Infrastructure and cloud engineering or a related field.
  • Experience working within similar corporate / retail environments, partnering with Technology team and the business to achieve business outcomes and optimise customer / end user experience
