The role

As part of our premium focused Merchandise team, the Merchandise Planner across Beauty is a crucial member of the team that develops & drives the overall strategy across a variety of beauty categories. Reporting to the Planning Manager, this role is focused on managing stock lines effectively both in terms of total volume and store allocations/gradings while forecasting against our core KPIs.  This role partners in the truest form with vendors and the buying team to ensure commercial and profitably targets for the category are met.

With a hybrid mix of work from home and time in the office, this is an outstanding role for an experienced, commercially minded Planner looking to take their career to new heights.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Establish, implement, manage and report on sales, profit and stock to agreed KPI’s
  • Manage OTB (including Basic) and purchase order authorisation
  • Ensure that the distribution of OTB across size, colour and cluster mix reflects historical data so that financial results are optimised
  • Implement assortment planning process in conjunction with the Buyer
  • Partner closely with our centralised replenishment team to ensure minimum quantities are appropriate per product type and channel location
  • Agree with the Buyer all seasonal items, and promotional stock quantities for each store
  • In conjunction with the buying teams, develop strong commercial relationships with vendors
  • Engage with and influence internal business partners to implement merchandise strategy

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Merchandise/Demand planner across the beauty, retail or FMCG industries
  • Degree qualifications within a Finance or Business discipline
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrably strong retail and commercial acumen
  • A proven ability to work alongside a range of key senior stakeholders in order to achieve business outcomes
  • An ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced environment whilst balancing competing interests
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
