The Digital team focuses on delighting our customers by offering a fully integrated and seamless customer experience through various online marketing channels. We are looking for an experienced Digital Trading Specialist with a focus on our Womenswear area, to drive sales, profit, and EBIT for the David Jones digital function in line with budgeted targets and the overall David Jones digital strategy.

In this role you will:

  • Create, trial, and implement strategies to improve the digital customer journey with a view to grow market share profitably online
  • Report back to key stakeholders on digital trade performance including customer journey online, merchandise and digital metrics
  • Recommend and consult with all online and offline channels to support amendments to the David Jones trading calendar
  • Manage trade events and provide forecasts to the business to ensure sales, marketing spend, inventory levels, and channel support are in line with projected outcomes
  • Manage and influence the David Jones website ensuring that relevant content is in line with search behaviour, inventory levels, and key trading events
  • Manage inventory levels with Buying & Merchandising teams ensuring the digital function can support all demand whilst maintaining an optimum stock position in all fulfilment centres
  • Continue to grow the assortment represented online, liaising with new brands to achieve the widest most compelling offer to our customers
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Trading and Production coordinators
  • Oversee the product life cycle ensuring the digital function launches product efficiently within style guide and in line with our ‘bricks & mortar’ stores
  • Collaboratively work with the David Jones Buying, Merchandise, and Marketing teams to ensure streamlined marketing events are planned, and delivered, across all channels to support sales

We are looking for that little bit extra, so join us if you have:

  • Extensive experience working with Google Analytics / Web metrics reporting systems
  • A background in Merchandise Planning and/or retail (desired), or experience in a similar online marketing role within an ecommerce environment
  • Experience or a strong interest within Women’s fashion and accessories  
  • Experience in stakeholder management and people management
  • Strong team leadership and coaching ability
  • Strong influencing/ negotiation skills
  • The ability to interpret data and use this to aid sound decision making
  • Advanced Excel / reporting / system skills
